Whether you're a newbie, an expert, or just want to try
your hand at betting, there are several legal US sports betting sites to choose
from. It's important to remember that you'll need to be in the state to place
your bets. While it may seem like a quaint notion, some states require
in-person registration at a brick and mortar sportsbook. Depending on your
state, you may also need to fill out a registration form for online sports
betting.
In some states, you can also make bets on horse races.
Several major internet bookmakers offer horse racing betting markets. For
example, BetMGM offers a number of free bet promotions. However, you should check
with your operator to see which promotions are available and whether or not you
qualify for them
Most legal US sports betting sites only accept credit
cards and 777powernet. They do not accept cryptocurrencies or other forms of
payment. Several of these sites offer a wide variety of bet types, including
parlays, props, and more. You may also want to check to see if your chosen
operator offers a sports rewards program. You can also follow your favorite
sportsbook on social media to keep up with new offers.
While there's no word yet on which operators will be
available in the first few months of legal sports betting, West Virginia
surprised a lot of people with its fast-tracked launch. After a non-binding
referendum in 2011, voters approved the construction of five land-based casinos
and allowed the Gaming Division of the Department of Consumer Protection to
oversee the new industry.
In September, seven apps were launched and the first
online sportsbook went live. DraftKings was the first online option in the state.
The state also signed a gambling agreement with its tribal partners that allows
for online betting and retail betting. When the casinos are ready, retail
betting will be launched as well.
The state of Iowa launched its online sports betting
market in August. There are currently six live operators, including BetRivers
and DraftKings. During the first year of legal wagering, a number of promotions
will be offered. Among the most notable are the chance to win free cash and the
ability to receive a first bet refund. Some operators will also offer enhanced
returns, which are only available when you wager through the site.
The state of Connecticut will also launch its online
sports betting market in October. The state is expected to attract a number of
operators, including DraftKings. When this happens, Connecticut bettors will
also be able to make sports bets online. This site will be available to all
Connecticut residents, not just residents of the state.
Ohio lawmakers approved a sports betting bill in December.
The state will begin legal wagering on January 1, 2023, and 25 online
sportsbooks will be available at maturity. A few states, including
Massachusetts, have reached a last-minute deal to legalize wagering in the
commonwealth during the 2022 session.
